Full-featured mobile security and connectivity application that helps keep you connected and protected on Wi-Fi and Cellular. Based on our patented SmartVPN®, this app has four key features: Secure Business, Secure, Bond and Optimize.

SECURE BUSINESS

• DNS-based security that blocks security threats and filters inappropriate content.

SECURE

• Wi-Fi security automatically encrypts unsecured data to protect users when on vulnerable Wi-Fi networks.

Bond

• Enables seamless handoff between Wi-Fi and Cellular networks – augmenting poor performing Wi-Fi with small amounts of Cellular to eliminate Wi-Fi deadzones.

OPTIMIZE

• On-device optimization reduces the amount of data consumed by up to 80% without impacting the customer experience. This feature right-sizes video bitrate for the mobile device and dynamically caches commonly used content to help prevent data overages and greatly increase the amount of data that can be consumed by current plan.

The SmartVPN® ensures these features maximize device performance with minimal impact on battery and other applications, especially those that are sensitive to a VPN and as a result don’t work with a traditional VPN (ex. streaming and banking apps).

IMPORTANT NOTE

Please note that if you check the data or battery usage on your phone, it will appear as though Akamai SPS is using a lot of data and battery. However, Akamai SPS isn’t actually using all that data/battery. The data/battery usage has actually now been shifted from your other apps, because your data now passes through this app to enable our security and optimization features. Total battery usage will be minimal – on average <.1%.
