--USAGE NOTES--

* There are 3 layouts for keyboards, plus one handwriting pad.

(a) QWERTY FOR HINDI TYPING (SHIFT key in blue)

(c) QWERTY FOR ENGLISH TYPING

- To 'sequentially' switch between keyboards, press 'Shift' sign.

*** QWERTY FOR HINDI KEYBOARD ***

- To type a Devnagri letter, think the initial Roman/English alphabet for it, and press that key until you get the desired letter. Example:

राम = r a m

खत = k k t (i.e. instead of pressing 'Shift + k' or 'kha' for getting ख as in old systems, just press 'k' twice to get ख)

- As you type, a list of suggested words will appear on the top; just tap on the right one or continue typing.

*** SYMBOLS KEYBOARD ***

- Simply type what you see.

*** QWERTY FOR ENGLISH KEYBOARD ***

- To type email addresses, passwords etc. so that you do not have to switch to another input methods/IME.

- Usually what you get by pressing SHIFT + character, you can get by pressing the key twice.

*** HANDWRITING MODULE (LIMITED BETA VERSION) ***

* To invoke handwriting module, press blue 'S' anytime. To close handwriting module and go back to a keyboard layout, press the 'keyboard' symbol.

* Simply write a word, and end with an usual overbar touching the space or enter key on the right. To type a word not recognised by the dictionary, write each letter/matra separately, tapping the space key.

* A list of recognised words will appear on the top; just tap on the right one.

* Make sure every stroke is indeed drawn in blue/cyan on the canvas (write slowly if your system is slow). Remember, the handwriting module is the beta version, and its performance and vocabulary is limited. Have fun!

INSTALLATION

============

1. Download from Google Play.

2. Go to Settings -> Locale & Text

3. Enable (tick) हिंदी बिंदी कीबोर्ड in Text Settings. Confirm 'OK' on attention dialogue.

4. Go to 'Select Input Method', and select हिंदी बिंदी कीबोर्ड.

You are ready to type using हिंदी बिंदी कीबोर्ड in any programme.

NOTES ON THE PHILOSOPHY OF HINDI BINDI TYPING:

Our philosophy is that assigning a Devnagri alphabet to the initial alphabet of its Roman transcript is much more intuitive, easy to remember and convenient to type on touchscreen. For example, to type ख, one first thinks of 'k'; so it's better and convenient to press 'k' twice on touchscreen rather than pressing Shift + k (old technology) or k + h, at two isolated places on the keyboards.
