Hearthstone Battlegrounds is gearing up to introduce its seventh season, and with it, a new co-op mode unveiled at last year's BlizzCon is arriving. This fresh feature, known as Battlegrounds Duos, allows you and a partner to team up against three pairs of opponents. The debut of this mode is set for April 16, coinciding with the launch of Season 7.

Maintaining the standard player count of eight, the Battlegrounds will consist of four pairs. Instead of competing individually, teams in Duos will have a shared health pool and can exchange cards between them, with each transfer costing 1 Gold. To enhance the Duos experience, there will be exclusive additions: four unique Heroes, 16 minions, and three Tavern Spells, all tailored for this mode. Players can opt to join the battleground with a chosen friend or be matched with another solo player. Furthermore, the Duos mode will feature its own separate ranking and leaderboard system.
Among the new heroes crafted for Duos, the two-headed ogre duo, Cho and Gall, stands out. Their special passive skill allows your ally to gain a Triple Reward up to three times each time you secure one.
The upcoming updates to the single-player Battlegrounds mode will be extensive, featuring enhancements such as the introduction of 50 novel minions, the comeback of over a dozen minions, and the addition of new Tavern Spells. Blizzard has revealed plans to overhaul both the Dragon and Mech types, completely rework the Beast type, and adjust the balance of numerous heroes and minions across the board.
For Season 7, titled "Once Upon a Tavern," players can anticipate a trove of fairy tale-themed cosmetic rewards. While the quests will undergo a rotation with the advent of the new season, Tavern Spells are slated to become a mainstay in the Battlegrounds mode. Concurrently, a fresh rewards track and season pass will be initiated.
