The Al-Naseem High School series belongs to the category of suspense and excitement, as its story revolves around the appointment of a teacher at Al-Naseem Secondary School who applies the best methods and advanced educational methods, but he faces many obstacles.
The story begins in a high school located in the Al-Naseem neighborhood in Riyadh, where young people face the troubles of adolescence. After the teenagers’ first confrontation in high school with the new teacher, Abdullah, the naughty student, Mishal, challenges him and announces that he will force him to escape from high school before the end of the school year, carrying with him his failure in hand and his master’s degree. In reforming education with the other hand, but Mr. Abdullah accepts the challenge, to begin a reform, psychological and moral battle of a special kind, waged by the young teacher with the aim of reforming his students, changing their behavior and modifying the course of their lives.
The series combines social drama, action, and realism, and is directed to young people and teenagers in particular.
The character of Abdullah, in the series, is self-made, stubborn, educated, and married to a girl he met and loved. His financial level is average, while his wife’s family is very wealthy, and his goal in life is reform, which means reforming the lives of everyone around him, especially the students.
As for the students that Abdullah deals with, they are sometimes bullies and are accustomed to rebellion and imposing force and cruelty on those around them, so Abdullah uses psychological tricks to solve their problems, deal with them, and enter their psychological and behavioral worlds.
But when Professor Abdullah began his career, his main goal was to reform the education system and the school in general, but later he found himself engaged in reforming one classroom and a specific group of students, and this matter he considered a reduction of his original mission.
So Professor Abdullah takes this challenge seriously to the point where he is willing to lose everything in order to achieve his ultimate goal. Later, Abdullah realizes that he is actually about to lose his family in order to improve the lives of the teenagers in his class. How will he be able to achieve a balance between the two matters? Here lies the real challenge he faces!
Educational message in drama
Because the series carries within it educational aspects, it was necessary to ask about the role of drama in addressing society’s problems. Here Hamza answers: “Any artistic work that does not carry a message is just a waste of time and money. It is necessary that there be an important message contained in artistic works, and in (Al-Naseem Secondary School) Our message was educational, stating that if there is a good teacher who has full faith in his message, then he will be able to reform the student and change the situation for the better.”
Hamza bases this on his vision of the importance of the teacher’s role in the renaissance of society, pointing out that Professor Abdullah’s role in the series is not limited to routine teaching tasks, but rather goes beyond that with the students, as he visits them, gets to know their parents, and gets closer to the unemployed students. Disciplined people, and he adds: “Any artistic work must include a message that benefits society, because art is one of the powerful elements in development.”
Education between yesterday and today
