À propos de AFIS TraceIt

AFIS TraceIt is used primarily as a finger print tracing program. This program has been tested on two Android smart devices. The two included a Galaxy Note2 and a Galaxy Note3. The program utilizes the stylus such as the one these two devices have.

About the program - Menu.

There are 3 buttons on the main form - Open File, Skeleton and Point Marking and an On/Off button for turning the skeleton on and off.

The secondary menu is a sweep screen from left to right. The menu displays 3 primary categories - Finger, Points and Skeleton. See enclosed images.

1. Finger - Can save the fingerprint and Open a file

2. Points - Turns points Off/On and also and Eraser to erase points

Skeleton - the On button has the same use as the button on the main form

Eraser - erases the skeleton

Pencil tool - traces the ridge pattern (hint: while tracing turn skeleton on and off to check trace)

Point button - This button is inactive unless you own the AFISLite FCliemt.

Save - Saves the skeleton to the SD card.

When a tool is activated, ie. eraser, when finished the tool is deactivated by pressing the button again. This must be done before carrying on to the next operation.

Note: I have used the camera on a downsized print (1/2" x 1/2") to try to get a good representation of a print found at a scene. Using the 8m camera and a flash on the Note 2 I was able to crop the image, trace it and find the match on an AFIS. This program has lots of potential for those interested in fingerprints but I must say you also need a steady hand.

The Zoom capability is just opening and closing two fingers on the screen much the same as done now to enlarge an image. This a nice feature see ridges especially on latents when tracing.
