HISTORY OF TEMPLE

The late K.Subramaniam Pillai M.A, B.L the great scholar and patriot says “ It is a pity the majority of Tamil Saiva public are grossly ignorant of the very emds and aims of their institutions, and what is worse, are laboring under confusion of their faith with Swartheism ,because of their religion, which not a few erroneously called the Hindu religion .Swami Vivekananda referring to the so called Hindu religion says’s It has lost its significance ,for all the people who live on this side of the Hindus do not follow the same religion as they did in ancient times. I, therefore would not use the word ‘Hindu’. By the use of it door is opened for the interference of members of one religion with the interest of another and this has created a confusion of creed.

There are not two religious in the world which are not so dis-similar as the the Smarthic and Saiva religion in respect of concept of God, mode of worship , revelations, ceremony on initiation , principle of worship ans socials ideals. The source of one is Vedic while that of the others is Agamic. In Agamic literature Siva is registered as the All-Highest. The swalies in Kuala Lumpur in particular and others all over Malaya in general fully aware that the religious significances of Saiva Siddhanta has been entirely neglected and the religious doctrine of Tamil Saivam have not been studied and the reason for the neglect was due to the rise and spread of Neo-Vedantism , which champions the cause of “advaita” in order to suit the purpose of being as assorts universal religion syncretizing in itself all other great-religious, decided in the year 1927 to establish a center for the propagation of saiva siddhanta sangam purely as a metaphysical system. Consequent to the formation of “The Malayan Saiva Siddhanata Sangam”, a place of worship for expounding the philosophical ideas contained in the Ssaiva Sidhanta Sastas was felt necessary and in the year 1937 foundation was laid for the building of a suitable edifice for the establishment of a Saivan Temple known as “ Ahthi –Esawaran Temple”
