About Fairies, Witches And Angels

People generally describe any super natural power with fairies

and gnomes. These supernatural being and sprite is also called

with other names in folkloristic traditions such as wee folk,

fair folk, good folk, people who gives peace, etc.

These are imaginary things that people believe that they come

to this world to protect and destroy the meanness and jealous

in human beings. This modern era has gave fairy an image and

describe it to be very young, beautiful with wings wearing

a white frock and holding a star stick in their hands.

Moreover, they appear similar to that of humans. However,

few of them describes them as tall, angelic, beaming, wizened

troll, etc. These are the two ways in which people image the

fairies to be.

Celtic people have described these fairies as the tiny individuals.

These individual are driven into concealment by the invading

beings

Fairies are generally described as the living things which look

similar to that of human beings but have magical ability. The

folklore describes this as completely different species who

does not appear as human beings or angels but they are the

dead people turned into devil or sprite.

The word fairy has emerged from the English folklore and later

with the blend of Germanic elves and with the influence of

French folklores these are defined as tiny species and eventually

they are now familiarly known as fairy tales by the youngsters.

These creatures are called as fairy in all the other cultures

too. These fairies are having their own historic origin in

middle French medieval romances which a knight-errant has come

across. This fairy name is used to describe the enchanted beings,

since Middle English period.

These fairies are being changed as what we understood today

in the romanticism literature during the Victorian era. Many

of the famous writers has used fairy as the being with magical

abilities in their stories. This has inspired and still inspiring

many kids today.

Most of the kid’s stories available in the market today are

of fairy tales.

According to folklorists they origin of these fairies may be

lying in the conquered race or it may be a religious belief

which has lost its validity with the emerging of Christianity.

However, these fairies do not have their own origin this has

emerged from folk beliefs, shaped by the writers, and learned

speculation. If we observe the folklore we can see them as

natural but indefinite species such as spirits of the dead

ancestors.

Few people describe them as angel and few as devils.

Fairies look alike as human but have supernatural power. Their

origin has not clearly described in the folklore but their

diversely looked as indefinite species or species who does

not come into human category or angels.

However, these fairies are described as the combination of

Celtic, Germanic and Greco-Roman elements.

Earlier people use to worship fairies as minor goddesses like

nymphs or tree spirits. With the existence of Christianity,

the belief about these fairies in people mind has been diminished.

The beings described as Goddesses in the earlier tales are known

describing them as fairies in the same stories. If we observe

the Irish tales, we can see that the author is described the

creatures as fairies, it means that in ancient days they use

to describe them as deities.

Here the author has described that they have come from the

island that is towards north side of the world and few described

that they came from the sky.

After fighting with some non-natural beings and with the ancestors

of the Irish people, they were buried in the fairy mounds.
