What is the Alliance Française ?

A Worldwide Network of over 1200 independently run committees established in 138 countries. Alliance Française is the first cultural network in the world. From Brazil to China (where Alliance is established in already 15 cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Canton, Dalian, Tianjin, Jinan, Qingdao, Xian, Nanking, Wuhan, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Macao and Hong Kong), and Taiwan, India, Russia and USA, Alliance Française counts each year more than 450,000 students.

In Canada: From Vancouver to Halifax, more than 9,000 students attend courses in our schools.

In Vancouver: The Alliance Francaise of Vancouver has been actively promoting interest in the French language and culture since 1904. We are a non-profit cultural and educational association managed by a board of directors elected by its members. It is our goal to foster the appreciation of French culture through cultural events and to encourage the study of the French language.
