Aspect Slider

Show the pictures on your device as a slideshow.

The main purpose of this app is to make good use of screenspace when showing images with different aspect ratios and keeping the black borders minimal, as typically happens for portrait-format pics on a landscape screen (and also landscape-format pics on a portrait-oriented screen).

I can't help it, seeing a display like this always makes me feel as if I need to turn the device in order to align the picture's and the screen's aspect.

So finally I created this little app which just shows a slideshow where it puts previous and next pictures into those parts of the screen which would otherwise just have been black borders. I quite like the look of this.

This app has basic slideshow functionality.

- You can select pictures based on galleries or all galleries, but you can also use ignore the media store and rather use the file system to find a directory from which to display the slide show.

- Random order option

- Recurse into directories option (when using file system)

- Display time and spacing options

- Option to filter images based on a minimum size (to avoid accidental display of icon imagery & thumbnails)

- Swipe or use keyboard/trackball/joystick for next/prev picture

Daydream support: You can run Aspect Slider either as a normal app, or with Android 4.2+ you can also select it as a Daydream / Screensaver.

This is actually the very first Android app which I developed and completed. For those who are able to make use of it, I have also released the source code at https://github.com/rfuxx/aspectslider-android in case you have some ideas and want to modify it in a way that you like better.
