The remaining cookie* stared back at her from the plate.

“I should wait,” she thought. “I’ll want it later.”

The temptation twisted her hands into fists; knuckles whitening.

She stood and approached the counter.

She moved to be within arm’s reach when the door flew open.

“I HAVE BROUGHT MORE COOKIES!” Shouted Bits.

She ran to him, the last cookie in her hand, and grabbed the rest.

“I love you, Bits!”
