BTS (hangul: 방탄 소년단, revised romanization: Bangtan Sonyeondan)? is a South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment in 2013. It is composed of seven members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook. The group debuted on June 13, 2013 with the song "No More Dream", included in its first single 2 Cool 4 Skool, while its premiere in Japan occurred on June 4, 2014 with the Japanese version of the same theme . The name of the group, BTS, is an abbreviation of the Korean expression Bangtan Sonyeondan (Hangul: 방탄 소년단, hanja: 防彈 少年 團?), Which literally means «Bulletproof Boy Scouts». According to member J-Hope, this refers to the group's desire to "put aside stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations directed like bullets towards young people."
