Celerway Wifi Handover

Enjoy a smoother network experience on your Android device.

Wifi can sometimes be a pain, especially when your phone connects to a network with limited or no connectivity, or decides to stay on a network even though the signal strength is so poor that no data gets through. You miss out on notifications, emails and your music stream might stop.

Celerway Wifi Handover runs in the background and improves the situation by monitoring the state of the Wifi closely and more aggressively handing the device over to the mobile broadband network. Note that we never disable Wifi, so as soon as the quality of the Wifi network improves or another Wifi network is detect, your device will automatically connect the Wifi network (depending on the vendor-implemented policies).

Except for a light-weight connectivity check when you connect to a new network, our application does not send any data. We also only react to events from the operating, so very little battery is consumed. Finally, the reason for the permissions is that we need to send some data, we need to monitor network state and we need to prevent the phone from connecting to networks with no connectivity after we have disconnected. To connect to a network with no connectivity again, you have to manually select it in the Wifi-menu on the device.

This application has been tested to work fine with Nexus 5, 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5.
