Chinese cuisine is an ancient one that goes back to thousands of years ago. Staple foods are rice, noodles, soybeans, wheat, vegetables, herbs and seasonings. Peking duck is also important in Chinese cookery.

Some of the many side dishes served in thanksgiving food are cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, winter squash, and sweet potatoes. Also, fresh, canned, or frozen corns are popular as side dishes. Fresh salad is sometimes added to menu. In the south, bread rolls, biscuits and cornbread are served. For dessert, a variety of pies can be served such as pumpkin pie, apple pie, mincemeat pie, sweet potato pie and pecan pie. As alternatives to turkey, goose and duck can be used.
