DCM Shriram entered the sugar business in 1998 when it set up its first sugar manufacturing unit at Ajbapur, Distt. Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. Other than Ajbapur, its manufacturing units are located at Rupapur, Hariawan & Loni, all in district Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. The company works with approximately 1.5 lac farmers, has an installed capacity of 33,000 TCD and crushes around 4 million tons of cane from four manufacturing units. Each of these units has invested in state of the art technology that gives them one of the best manufacturing efficiencies in the country.  It has one of the largest field forces in the country who regularly advice and support farmers on the agronomy of cane cultivation.
