Dubai city is full of gardens and parks that add a touch of elegant beauty everywhere, through large green areas and locations, where children find the games that they are looking for. They also fill their life with happiness and please families, who find entertainment sites to spend weekends and spare time; especially in winter with its nice warm climate. During the past few years, Dubai has turned into a green paradise through the exerted efforts for changing desert areas into lush parks. Visitors of such parks clearly realize the gigantic resources behind such a great achievement. Therefore, Dubai is now considered as one of the cities rich in parks and green areas.

There is a set of special factors that make parks in Dubai an essential feature. The first of these factors is the desert nature of the emirate, which leads to searching for a natural

resort to get over the high temperature in summer. In addition, the excessive population growth, construction and technological development in the Emirate of Dubai could have led to the pollution of the city atmosphere; if it were not for the plentiful green areas in the city; whether in public parks or on road sides or median islands. The basic concept for establishing these parks in Dubai Emirate can be summed up in the following points:

تزخر مدينة دبي بالعديد من الحدائق والمتنزهات التي تضفي لمسة جمال هنا وهناك حيث المساحات الخضراء الواسعة والأماكن التي يجد فيها الأطفال كل ما يتطلعون إليه من ألعاب تضفي على حياتهم جوا من البهجة , وتمنح العائلات شعورا بالسعادة مع توفر الأماكن الترفيهية التي يقضون فيها أيام العطلات الأسبوعية وأوقات الفراغ ولاسيما في فصل الشتاء مع جمال الطقس ودفء المناخ .

ففي خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية تحولت مدينة دبي إلى جنة خضراء بفضل الجهود المبذولة لتحويل المساحات الصحراوية إلى حدائق غناء والزائر لهذه الحدائق يشعر بوضوح حجم الإمكانيات الهائلة التي تقف وراء هذا الإنجاز العظيم , حتى أن مدينة دبي تعد الآن واحدة من المدن الغنية بالحدائق و الساحات الخضراء .

وهناك مجموعة من العوامل الخاصة التي تجعل من الحدائق في دبي عاملاً مهماً. و أول هذه العوامل طبيعة البيئة الصحراوية للإمارة و يتبع ذلك البحث عن متنفس طبيعي للتغلب على الحرارة الشديدة خلال الصيف و كذلك الزيادة الكبيرة في حجم السكان و التقدم العمراني و التقني الذي تشهده إمارة دبي و الذي يمكن أن يؤدي إلى تلوث جو المدينة لولا وجود تلك المسطحات الخضراء المنتشرة في المدينة سواء في الحدائق العامة أو على جانبي الطرق أو في الجزر الوسطية لها ،هذا و أن المفهوم الأساسي لإنشاء الحدائق في إمارة دبي يمكن إجماله في النقاط التالية :-

1- توفير أماكن ترفيهية ترويحية لقضاء أوقات مفيدة وصحية للجميع .

2- زيادة الرقعة الخضراء و تجميل المدينة.

3- حماية البيئة من التلوث.
