À propos de Grim Reaper

Some religions have an idea of the existence of "the angel of death." This "Angel of death" figure has many names. This figure is known as Samael, Sariel, or Azrael in Judaism; Malak al Mawt in Islam; Yama or Yamaraja in Hinduism; and as a Grim Reaper in popular fiction.

In various mythologies, the angel of death is depicted with various forms, ranging from the figure of a robed skeleton, beautiful women, to small children. Though different, the core belief remains the same: this figure will come to someone at the time of his death, whether to take his life or just observe it - in order to bring the soul of that person to the world of the dead.

The Bible does not teach the concept of "the angel of death." The Bible never teaches that an angel is specifically responsible for taking a life, or the presence of an angel whenever someone dies. The Book of 2 Kings 19:35 describes the angel of God who killed 185,000 Assyrians, who were besieging Israel. Some who read Exodus chapter 12 believe in the death of every firstborn in Egypt as an act of angels.

Although this may be true, the Bible never states that it was angels who killed every firstborn in Egypt. Whatever the case, even though the Bible explains that angels can deprive someone's life on God's command, there is not a single verse in the Bible that teaches that an angel specifically commissioned to take a life.

God, and only God, who is sovereign over the time of our death. No angel or devil can take our life, in any way, before God wills it to happen. Based on Romans 6:23 and Revelation 20: 11-15, death is the separation, the separation of the soul from our body (physical death). For the unbeliever, it will be an eternal separation from God (eternal death).

Death is something that is sure to happen. Death does not have any form, whether as an angel, a devil, a human, or any other creature. Angels can indeed kill a person. They may play a role in whatever happens to us after death - but there is no such thing as "the angel of death."
