Brighten the blind with your voice

A movement to spread the knowledge of the world using my voice, on Helen.

Helen is a platform where anyone with a video with subtitles, such as TED or YouTube, can be dubbed over with my voice. Anyone with a smartphone or computer can join without any time or space constraints.

[Why was Helen made?]

In the era of video streaming, numerous foreign language content has been produced around the globe, and it has become an age that can be easily viewed through the open subtitle system created by voluntary participation. But for a billion people who are blind or dyslexic, their access to such knowledge and entertainment is hindered. Therefore, for videos with subtitles, this is a great project that allows you to create and share native language videos naturally, just like native language content, by recording my voice on a sentence-by-sentence basis through footage. This is Helen.

[Helen's features]

1. Helen is able to record each sentence by simply reading the subtitles in groups of 20-24 characters, so you can easily dub and edit only part of the lines at any time.

2. Most importantly, there is no distinction between blind and non-disabled persons on Helen.

It is not content that only the blind can enjoy conveniently, but it provides content that can be enjoyed conveniently by anyone. Conversely, it is not a platform that only non-disabled people can dub through. We have developed an environment where the blind can conveniently become content producers as well.
