King Street is the main drag of Old Town Alexandria, stretching from the Potomac River to the King Street Metro. Trendy cafes operate alongside historical sites dating back to the 18th century. There is a mix of local, national and even globally recognized companies, but for the most part, big box stores are outnumbered by small businesses and family-owned operations. Residents and visitors flock to Old Town on weekends for outdoor festivals, concerts, tours and parades.

Wander along the cobblestone side streets and you’ll soon find yourself imagining daily life in the 18th and 19th centuries. Indeed, many of the buildings still standing today were once visited or inhabited by America’s founding fathers and Civil War leaders.
