Scabies is caused by a microscopic mite that burrows inside the outer layer of the skin and spreads through close physical contact.

If you experience symptoms such as intense itching or rashes on your skin, and you suspect Scabies to be the culprit, Hudsvar can put you in contact with an expert dermatologist from the comfort of your home.

Hudsvar is a teledermatology app that facilitates remote evaluations by specialists at Bispebjerg Hospital to provide clarity on whether scabies might be the cause of your symptoms.

All you need is a smartphone and an internet connection.

How to use Hudsvar

* Answer a questionnaire and take photos of the symptoms on your skin through the app.

* The photos are sent securely and anonymously to Bispebjerg Hospital where a dermatologist will assess your symptoms.

* The result is available in the app within three working days. The result will show your likelihood of having scabies and whether another skin condition might be present as well.

* You will also be advised on how to follow up with your doctor if you have a skin condition that requires treatment.

We understand that your skin is personal, and we value and respect your privacy. Your submission is therefore anonymous. Your health information and photos will only be shared with Bispebjerg Hospital so you can receive a remote evaluation of your symptoms from a professional dermatologist.

Hudsvar is developed by Omhu in partnership with Bispebjerg Hospital and LEO Innovation Lab.

The app is currently available as a beta version so if you spot any bugs or have suggestions for improvements, feel free to reach out.

In the beta version, you can only receive one assessment of your symptoms by the dermatologists at Bispebjerg Hospital. We are working on expanding this function, allowing you to request multiple evaluations.
