INGEOTAB (IGME)

INGEOTAB is an application created by IGME (Spanish Geological Survey) public research body attached to the Ministry of economy, industry and competitiveness aimed at professionals in the Earth Sciences and especially the geologists who develop their activity acquiring data in field. INGEOTAB aims to unify in a single device (tablets with larger 7 inch) and a single application the tools most commonly used in data collection. It has a series of generic base maps: World Imagery, World Street Map, World Topographic and other geoscientific maps provided by IGME: geological, hydrogeological, risks, etc. Those maps are available in INGEOTAB through online map services (if internet connection is available) or trough offline downloaded maps (if no connection is available). The application allows users to customize the fields of information to collect, and includes tools such as: clinometer, compass, GPS, camera, drawings, etc.

In this new version, the application has substantially improved in terms of stability and functionality:

• Identification of elements from online maps of the services of the IGME through a quick touch on screen.

• Legend of the online maps button.

• Distance measuring tool.

• Center map in Current Position.

• Import previously collected data and pre-existing data collection configurations.

• Zoom to full extent of the loaded maps.
