Needs Internet access because Android IPv6 APIs are buggy - http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13784 - fixed in Honeycomb.

1.2: fix null pointer issue with some older unstable devices. Network detection routines should also be more reliable when roaming between IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
