Copyright expiry date: 70 years from the end of calendar year in which the last of translators dies.
The C&MA is now looking into the date the last missionary translator past away.
Rev. Raddha Manickam confirmed that his father in law, Rev. Nget Choy, died in 1976.
When the Bible Society in Cambodia was established in 1968, and prior to 1975, the Khmer Bible was published under Cambodian Bible Society from 1968 to 1970, and Bible Society in Khmer Republic from 1970 to 1975.
Since 1975, United Bible Societies Association is the copyright holder on behalf of the British & Foreign Bible Society.
When the Bible Society resumed its ministry in Cambodia in 1993 under a new name “the Bible Society in Cambodia”, the organization is the only entity recognized as a United Bible Societies representative in the country. Bible Society’s publishing activities (production and supply, etc.) were carried out with management supports from the United Bible Societies.
Quotations of the Bible in Khmer Old Version in any form, must obtain written
permission from the Bible Society in Cambodia if the quoted material is inclusive of at least
250 verses, or a copy of any book wholly or partially, which amounts to 20% of the book
quoted. For any long quotation, notice of copyright must appear as follows:
"Text copyright © United Bible Societies, 1954, 1962. All Rights Reserved. Used By Permission."
