Aikido is a unique martial art, the emphasis lies in the harmonious blend of mind and body with the laws of nature. Aikido focuses on accepting and appreciating the energy of life and nature.

Aikido is often viewed as more of a defensive martial art because techniques and teachings are designed to avoid or get out of trouble. In contrast, Aikido in the form of technique is very powerful and effective.

Basically, there are four levels of Aikido training techniques. Katai refers to basic exercises and is intended to build the foundations of gestures and breathing; yawarakai to fend off attacks and movements to take control of the attackers; ki-no-nagare to defend or resist attacks by merging his movements with attackers; and ki one of the absolute Aikido techniques must be mastered and involves the ki or spirit relationship of the defender to the attacker.

When training for Aikido, you need a sparring partner. Uke and nage. Uke initiates the attack and receives Aikido technique, while the Nage defenders and the one that neutralizes the attack.

The basic techniques of Aikido include ikky which involves the attacker's control by placing one hand on the elbow and one near the wrist giving an opportunity to throw off the attacker; niky is interesting in uke using wristlock and arm bends while applying painful nerve pressure; sanky a rotating technique aimed at applying the overall spiral tension of the arm including the elbows and shoulders; yonky shoulder control techniques with both hands gripping the arm; goky is another variant of ikky where the hand grips the inverted wrist; shihnage or four-way throwing; kotegaeshi or back wrist involving wristlock-throws; kokynage is also known as breath throwing or throwing time; iriminage or enter a throwing body that resembles a "clothesline" technique; throwing tenchinage or heaven and earth; koshinage or Aikido version throws the hips; jinage or shaped - like-tenth '; and the kaitennage or rotation of which nage sweeps the uke's back arm until it locks the shoulder joint after the nage forward throws the attacker.

This is just a basic Aikido technique from a list of thousands of possible implementations or combinations can be performed by aikidokas. In Aikido, the movement performed during the execution of Aikido techniques is called atemi.

Mastering every technique involves discipline and devotion. To be a good aikodoka, must master the basic techniques of good aikido martial arts, and diligent exercise to do basic techniques, good practice.
