Last year after a very hectic midterm season, my friend Dave and I wanted to organize a 5-day road trip to Quebec City with some people we knew. We immediately ran into problems. First, we could not find anyone to drive us because of scheduling conflicts, then, we realized that we did not have enough money to pay for both the expensive car rental, and the accommodations. Suddenly, we saw two other students posted a trip inquiry on U of T book exchange website.

These students had gotten the idea after running into much the same problem we had run into, and had starting posting on forums to find people to go with! We messaged them quickly and together managed to do all the research necessary and pitch in to make the trip happen. Between all of us, we scraped together money for bookings, an itinerary, and even a driver! We barely knew these people when we took a chance to plan a trip and go with them somewhere we had never been. It was not long before I realized that planning and embarking on an adventure with someone turns them into good friends. Because our trip was so much fun, and we made so many awesome memories instead of 5 days, you feel like you’ve known someone for 5 years. After the trip, our friendships have only grown stronger as we all study and suffer the madness of U of T together.

Throughout my years at U of T, I spent most of my time worrying about GPAs forgot to focus on something more important - Memories and friendships which benefit the rest of your life. That is what LunaVentura is about. We realized we wanted to help the university become a more connected place, and help others to have the same amazing experiences we did! We want to create a community that helps everyone to graduate with more than just a degree, but with friends that last a lifetime!
