To bring out the complete works of great writers of Telugu

MaNaSu (Mannam Narasimham Subbamma) Foundation was started in 2006 by three brothers-Mr. Mannam Venkata Rayudu, the eldest, a Bangalore-based Electronics Engineer and Businessman, Dr.Gopicahand Mannam, a well-known cardiac surgeon and Managing Director, Star Hospitals, Hyderabad and also well-known for his philanthropic activities especially in the areas of Medical Care through Hrudaya Foundation and their younger cousin Dr. Mannam Chandra Mouli, a reputed journalist and book publisher and one of the leading team members of TV 9 Telugu.

The aims of the Foundation are two-fold:

1. To bring out the complete works of great writers of Telugu to the new breed of readers and thus preserve the valuable treasure of the writings for the generations to come. The complete works of these writers will be available in a chronological order to help a better insight into the writings of the authors who had attained an iconic status in Telugu literature during their lifetime.

2. To translate the books in other languages into Telugu which reflect the social reality and culture of Telugu people of pre 19th century Andhra Pradesh.

In fulfilling the above goals MaNaSu has already brought out the complete works of Rachakonda Viswanatha Sastry, Kalipatnam Rama Rao, SriSri, and Gurajada Appa rao. More works to be followed.

In order to achieve the 2nd goal, MaNaSu has brought the translation of ‘While Sowing Sandals…Tales of a Telugu Pariah Tribe’, written by Emma Rauschenbusch-clough, a 19th century sociological work which throws light on the lives of Madiga community around Ongole.

The second book, ‘The Biography of Sir Arthur Cotton’ written by his daughter Lady Hope which was translated into Telugu by the well-known writer Kavana Sarma has been published.
