Mithila School of Arts is an institution dedicated for the preservation of folk arts of Bihar, in its original form and values which supports the academic pursuits comprising related education, training and in-depth research.

Institute is aimed to provide a platform to the art lovers across the world for the preservation and enrichment of folk arts of Bihar, where we could witness the rich cultural traditions of Bihar.

The major objectives of the Institute

1. Promote the awareness about the indigenous art tradition of Mithila among the commoners and specialists of Mithila, Bihar, India and abroad.

2. Retaining the original and rare forms, designs, motifs, patterns, and process of making the art in the changing world.

3. Retaining the vegetational colours, obtaining colours from the nature, indigenous imagination of patterns and harmonizing the tradition with modernity.

4. Creating the value of Mithila Painting in the world market of art by way of internal and exogenous innovations and regular additions of new motifs, colour combination, canvas, and imagination.

5. Connecting Mithila Painting with other forms of art practiced in Mithila.
