Pastor Lionel Thapelo Mokwena

Senior Pastor Lionel Thapelo Mokwena began his educational studies at Sediba Sa Tsebo Primary School and proceeded to Elizabeth Matsemela Secondary School where he completed his matriculation studies.While at Sediba Sa Tsebo Primary School, in 1997 at the age of thirteen years, Pastor Mokwena attended a Revival Service in Block DD hosted by the late Pastor Fire Mosena where he made his decision to be saved and become a born again Christian.

He continued in his Christian journey faithfully and began to minister through the aid of the holy spirit at the age of fourteen years during school breaks in his class room at Sediba Sa Tsebo Primary School. During his secondary school career at Elizabeth Matsemela Secondary School, Pastor Mokwena continued to minister in the afternoons at Babina Phuti Secondary School. He also hosted revival and crusade services together with other ministers in Ga-Rankuwa Zone 7 where the Power unto Salvation Ministry was birthed.

In 1999 Pastor Thapelo together with other ministers established a new church base of Power unto Salvation Ministry in Makapanstad, in the Nzimande Home. They began the work of the Lord by hosting daily revival services at this home, while ministering at various churches in and around the area. After a period of two months, Pastor Thapelo together with other Pastors, moved on to establish a new church base of Power unto Salvation Ministry in Soshanguve at the mountain. While in Soshanguve, He was given a vision to establish the Jesus Christ Christian Church, through the Lionel Thapelo Mokwena Ministries.

Senior Pastor Thapelo Mokwena later transferred from Power unto Salvation Ministry to minister at Praise Terbanacle and Tower of Praise Churches where he was ordained and released to continue with his birthed ministry, Jesus Christ Christian Church in Mabopane. Eight years ago in March 2011 Pastor Thapelo officially registered and established the Jesus Christ Christian Church in Mabopane Block B, through Lionel Thapelo Mokwena Ministries. In this ministry, Pastor Mokwena lead and developed the ministry with passion and direction from Jesus Christ. He ministered and partnered with various Pastors in Nigeria, Africa and Creflo Dollar Ministries in USA as the Lead Pastor in Pretoria and surroundings areas concerning grace teachings.
