Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been launched on dated 25 June 2015. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is one of the basic requirements for human survival. it is for rural and urban people.

The Main Objective of the scheme to provide financial assistance to some of the weakest sections of society for them to upgrade or construct a house of respectable quality for their personal living in rural areas by 2022. Under the scheme, financial assistance is provided for construction of pucca house to all houseless and households living in dilapidated houses.

The scheme would be implemented in rural areas throughout India except Delhi and Chandigarh. The cost of houses would be shared between Centre and States.
