It's designed for sports like football and soccer, but it can be used for any timed sport, when a human referee is not available...
It shows the elapsed time from the start of the match, a progress bar to display the time to go for the current period, and signals the end of each period with typical referee whistles, played out at maximum volume.
It's main use is on the coach of a football match, to whistle period changes (if necessary), and the beginning and the end of the game.
In addition, you can insult it at your will, without risking expulsion! ;-)
