Schnapsen

Schnapsen est un jeu de cartes astucieux. L'objectif est d'atteindre 66 points.

Schnapsen is a trick-taking card game. The aim is to reach 66 points.

Deal

Deck of 20 cards is used. Each player is dealt a hand of five cards. One card is placed face up on the table (this is the trump card). The remainder of the deck is placed face down to form the stock.

Card Values

Ace 11, Ten 10, King 4, Queen 3, Jack 2

Marriages

Marriages are a King and Queen put together. You can play a marriage if you are first to play and you have the Queen and the King of the same suit. You have to announce it, show both cards (in our game use button Marriage) and drop the King on the table.

Trump suit = 40 points, Other suits = 20 points.

Game plan

Game consists of a series of Hands. You collect cards by winning tricks. You get points for each collected card and for declaring a marriage.

Each Hand is played until the first player reach the score of 66 points. If no player manages to reach 66 points before the last trick is played, the winner of the last trick win the Hand.

Points are counted and the winner receive :

3 game points if opponent wins no tricks.

2 game points if opponent has less than 33 points.

1 game point if opponent has more than 33 points.

After that new Hand is dealt. The Game ends when one of the players collect 7 game points.

Tricks

The winner of the previous trick play the first card of a trick.

When stock is not empty second player can play any card.

If the stock is empty second player must follow the suit played. If he has no cards in that suit he must play the card from trump suit. If he has no cards in suit played or trumps he can play any card.

If no card of the trump suit is part of the trick, the trick is won by the higher ranking card of the suit that was played first. Otherwise the trick is won by the higher ranking trump.

After the cards from the trick are collected, each player takes one card from the stock (winner first).

Closing the Stock

The leading player may close the stock prior to playing a card. Player close the stock by draging the face-up trump card and drop it on top of the stock. The game continues as the stock is empty. At the end player who closed the stock must have 66 points to win the hand.

If closer win the hand he receive :

3 game points if opponent had no tricks when stock was closed.

2 game points if opponent had less than 33 points when stock was closed

1 game point if opponent had more than 33 points when stock was closed.

If closer lose the hand, opponent receive:

3 game points if opponent had no tricks when stock was closed.

2 game points otherwise.

Exchanging Trump

If there is more than one card in the stock, leading player can exchange trump card with Jack of trumps. In order to do so player drag Jack from his hand and drop it on the trump card.

How to Play

You can move the card using drag and drop.

You can also tap on a card (if there is only one possible spot for that card).

Game Buttons

Cancel - Exit from current hand.

Save - Save current game for later use.

Next - Continue game with next hand.

Marriage - Declare Marriage.
