What this app does is use your smartphone camera to provide an understanding for a visually impaired person. So it identifies different objects and calls out what the object is for the visually impaired person. This app helps to increase their productivity and allow them to get through their day a lot easier without assistance from someone else.

How to use:

Single press to receive voice feedback of each function e.g. name of the button

Double press to open each function and receive voice feedback

Functions include:

Describe Image - Is the most generic function out of all as it is designed to identify different objects and let you know what is taking place in the image you captured.

Recognise Text - Identifies text form paper, posters etc. and lets you know what has been written.

Handwriting Text - Is similar to text but is designed to recognise peoples handwriting and what they have written.

Detection and Identification are the facial recognition functions

Detection - Detects peoples faces and lets you know what age, gender, facial hair, emotion etc.

Identification - Is used to store different faces into groups like friends and family so for future times it will identify who they are.

Bus Stop Reader - Is used to read different Bus stops in Dublin and present them with buses that use the bus stop and their arrival times.

This app was designed for the visually impaired so our focus was to make it as accessible as possible. That is why we introduced single press to identify what a button label is and double press to open the button. All buttons and results are spoken out by the Speech API.
