SMCA a commencé en 1996. Ses co-fondateurs sont Balaji Guttula & Nagesh Guttula.

SMCA encourages children at all levels, to develop their understanding of the game at the initial stages and to help them become better players over a period of time. A Qualified Team of Coaches at SMCA strive hard to enhance the skills and to stimulate the young minds to think logically and calculate deeply before taking decisions.

SMCA is of the strong opinion that it is not the outcome that matters but the process that leads to the outcome that will determine the lengths the player can go to. Our coaches understand the intensity of this game and make the teaching process extremely interactive through innovative techniques. Children are encouraged to speak and engage in a healthy discussion with the coach on their thoughts and plans so that the initiative and drive is essentially their own visa a versa the traditional autocratic approach of a monologue.

It is the dream of SMCA to make this platform available to all interested. It takes a high degree of intellect to be able to comprehend the game as well as being able to play it well with focus and intensity. Quality Coaching at SMCA is done by professional coaches who play the role of mentors and provide competent coaching techniques, keep motivation levels high with the use of a point system, and provide the kids with a positive environment, all of which are necessary requisites to create genius in chess.
