The concept of Udayan was incepted in 1967 to promote fraternity and harmony amongst the residents of New Alipore. Founded by a handful of enthusiatic locals, the club became an instant hit and within no time it emerged to be a big player in Kolkata.

By 1969, Udayan moved its headquaters to 11/S, Block A, New Alipur, Kolkata - 700053, which is still its main base of operations. Through continuous support and efforts of members, what was once an old building was soon transformed into a modern club house with latest amenities.

Under the leadership of Mr. Madanlal Sharaf, by 1975 Udayan was conducting a plethora of services and events which includes, but not restricted to, Anand Mela, Monsoon Program, Christmas Carnival, Rakhi Haat, Janmasthami, Badminton Tournament, Housie, etc.
