V. V. Lakshminarayana was worked as Additional Director General of Police in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is known for leading the investigations like OMC Scandal, Emaar Properties, Satyam Scandal and Disproportionate Assets . Born and brought up in Srisailam in Kurnool district, Lakshminarayana is the son of a retired government engineer.

Lakshmi Narayana pursued his mechanical engineering from National Institute of Technology, Warangal which was called Regional Engineering College.

Lakshminarayana was among the toppers in the 1990 batch of the civil services, but he chose IPS instead of IAS and was allotted the Maharashtra cadre. He is remembered for his stint as SP of Nanded and in the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad.

The Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here V.V. Lakshminarayana has been repatriated to his cadre State of Maharashtra at the end of his seven-year deputation to the investigating agency. He is an Inspector General of the 1990 batch of IPS.

Lakshmi Narayana’s idols

Throughout his life, Lakshmi Narayana was a follower of Swami Vivekananda, he wishes to create a mass of Vivekananda from his own school after his retirement. He is ahead in a line of giving help to the youth through his speech all over the Andhra Pradesh state.

He is known for his impact speeches. As an active member of Lead India Foundation, Hyderabad he interacted with more than 15 lakh youth so far. Lead India Foundation was started with the blessings of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

He worked as a Superintendent of police for Nanded and then for the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad. He was posted as Deputy inspector general of police (DIG) at Hyderabad on 12 June 2006, as he was keen to work for the CBI agency. , he was initially posted as the CBI unit head for a period of five years and then given extension for two years on his promotion as the Joint Director. He also received the Indian police medal in 2006. He successfully investigated the Satyam Scandal as a Deputy inspector general of police Rank. Shri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana donated blood 54 times and received an award from the Govt. Of Maharashtra. Sri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana adopted a village in Mehbubnagar District of Telangana State and developed it very well with the active participation of the villagers and the NGOs. Sri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana has been awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize by the Minority Commission of Maharashtra. Sri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana has been conferred with the Presidents Police Medal for Distinguished Services on 26 January 2017.
