Erling Braut Haaland (/ ˈhɔːlɑːnd /; né Håland, born in Leeds, 21 July 2000; age 20) is a Norwegian professional soccer player who plays as a striker for German club Borussia Dortmund and the Norwegian national team.

Haaland started his career at his hometown club Bryne FK in 2016, and moved to Molde FK the following year for two years. In January 2019, the Austrian Red Bull Salzburg team signed him for five years. In the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League, he became the first teenager to score in five consecutive UEFA Champions League matches. On 29 December 2019, Håland completed a transfer to Borussia Dortmund with a reported dowry of around € 20 million.

After an impressive appearance at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he won the Golden Boot, Håland made his debut for the senior Norwegian team in September 2019.

Håland has represented Norway in various age groups. With Norway U19, on 27 March 2018 he scored a hat-trick against Scotland with a 5-4 victory and helped Norway secure their qualification for the 2018 UEFA European U-19 Championship.

On 22 July 2018, Håland scored for Norway U19 in a 1-1 draw against Italy in the 2018 UEFA European U-19 Championship.

On 30 May 2019, Håland scored nine goals in Norway's U20 12-0 victory against Honduras U20 in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Lublin, Poland. This is Norway's biggest U-20 victory and the toughest defeat on the part of Honduras U-20. It also sets a new U-20 World Cup record for the most goals scored by a single player in a match, and also the biggest win by any team in tournament history. Although Norway was eliminated in the group stage, and Håland did not score in other matches in the tournament, he won his Golden Boot.

After an impressive appearance at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, a good performance with Red Bull Salzburg and scored six goals in the first four Bundesliga matches in Austria 2019-20, on 28 August 2019 Håland was appointed by manager Lars Lagerbäck in the Norwegian senior team squad to face Malta and Sweden in the Euro 2020 qualifying match, and debuted on September 5, 2019 against Malta.

Håland is the son of former Norwegian footballer Alf-Inge Håland who has worked at Forest Nottingham, Leeds United and Manchester City defender.

Håland was born in Leeds and supports the Leeds United club. In February 2017, in an interview with the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten, Håland stated that "His dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds."

Håland moved to Bryne in Norway with his family at the age of three.

Håland went on to become the second teenager in Champions League history to score in each of his first three appearances in the competition, after Karim Benzema, with 1 goal against Liverpool and 2 against Napoli. Thus he also became the first player to score as many as six goals in his first three matches in the Champions League. Then, he scored against Napoli and became the first teenager to score in four consecutive matches, and the fourth player to achieve that achievement, followed Zé Carlos, Alessandro Del Piero and Diego Costa. On 27 November, he scored again against Genk, to achieve five matches in a row, and was level with the records of Alessandro Del Piero, Serhiy Rebrov, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Robert Lewandowski.

Håland completed his transfer to Borussia Dortmund a few days before the January 2020 winter transfer window closed with costs reported to be in the range of € 20 million with a four and a half year contract duration. He made his debut against Augsburg on January 18, 2020, came on as a substitute in the 56th minute, and scored a hat-trick within twenty minutes in a 5-3 victory.
