The Wellness Teams app (and its integrated web portal wellnessteams.org) is applicable for any individual, team, business, organization or even municipality interested in advancing healthier lifestyles, driving down healthcare costs, and generating excitement with the goal of everyone living better. The app does this by enabling teams and individuals to compete, collaborate and communicate with each other in private or public (“open”) wellness competitions.

When used just as a single user, the app allows individuals to see their own steps (through integrations with Fitbit), read helpful articles, accept daily challenges, participate in local wellness events, check-in to local health-related places like gyms and spaces, and participate in “open” competitions with the opportunity to win prizes.

Individuals can also start their own teams through the app with dashboards showing how each member is doing. With their permission you'll see team member points for daily activities like step counts and the number of challenges accepted. This facilitates friends, co-workers, or even families in running their own private competitions.

Finally, the app and web portal allow organizations like businesses, associations and even municipalities to connect together hundreds of teams so they can run broad competitions covering thousands of individuals with a modest overhead of time and effort.
