The simplest plan to build your own workbench using 2x4 is sturdy workbench with only a top with one shelf. Some people may call it as a table. • 9 pieces of 2”x4”x8’

• 1 piece of 24”x48”x1” laminated pine board.

• 2 ½” screws

You must prepare tools:

• 120 grit sandpaper

• Paint brush

• Miter saw

• Drill

• Measuring tape

• Pencil

• Countersink drill bit

• Take the 16” length and use it as shelf support. Put them horizontally above the cleats of two legs. Secure them using screws. Do the same thing with another 16” length and the other two legs.

• Now you will add shelf, take three of 40” length, and lay them horizontally between two pair of legs and above shelf supports. Secure them with screws.

• Take the last two 40” and fasten them at the top of the legs as the stretchers.

• To add support for the top, you will need the 12”. The length is 4 inches shorter than shelf support because you already fasten stretcher at the top of the legs. You need even space at the top for each of them and secure them to the stretchers.

• The last thing is add laminate pine board as the top and fasten it. Your 2x4 workbench is ready. You can do finishing for better look.
