Award winning Germany based Bangladeshi journalist and social media specialist Zahidul Islam is known to his profession as Zahid Al Amin. Over a decade, Zahid worked for several popular media stations in Bangladesh, as a Reporter, Sub-Editor, Online Editor and News Manager. He is also writing several blogs on rights based issues. Then, he has shifted his career path from a practicing journalist to full-time media research and journalism training, communication and patronizing blogs and social media. Now he is the founder of International Institute of Media & E-Journalism (IIMEJ), and has been since its inception in 2012 as the Chief Executive Officer. He had also lead the media and communications team of Bandhu Social Welfare Society BSWS), an organization dedicated to work for sexual minority people rights till 2015, untill . Earlier, he worked for Journalism Training & Research Initiative (JATRI) as its Training & Communication Specialist. He has also been working for amadershomoy.com, a leading online newspaper as its Social Media Editor for last couple of years. Prior to the current responsibilities, Zahid has completed both graduation and post graduation degree in Communication and Journalism from the University of Chittagong. He has completed two fellowship programs on Multimedia and Online Journalism at the International Institute for Journalism (IIJ), Berlin, Germany. Zahid has also a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Journalism at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in New Delhi, India. International Center for Journalist has awarded a scholarship on Multimedia Journalism with Smartphone in 2012. He has been awarded a series of award for his writing and creative works in past one decade in home and abroad.

His professional experiences as well as academic background enhanced his familiarity in the national and international sphere which would help him perform better in the field of communication, journalism as well as social media. He also believe that his familiarity with multi-stakeholders including public institutions, NGOs, CBOs, civil society organizations, local government representatives and media in Bangladesh will give him an added advantage space to achieve the expected outcomes in the field of Communications.

To pursue a career that enables me to utilize best academic, research, networking, management, multimedia and e-journalism and communications skills to raise the competency of people and the quality of life within a knowledge-based society.
