Rock band was formed since 1970 in Topeka, Kansas, United States, with the genre of rock music rhythm, rock art and progressive rock. The name of the band "Kansas" is taken from the city where the band was formed in Kansas City, USA.

The initial formation of Kansas band personnel has 2 vocalists named Lynn Meredith and Joel Warne, 2 keyboards named Don Montre and Dan Wright, and a saxophonist named Larry Backer.

Kansas band band had ups and downs in the activity of playing music, they began active from 1973 until 1984 then had vacum for 1 year and started active again in 1985 until now.
